Maria Mikaela Karita Singson Mendoza is the heart of the Province of Ilocos Sur as she believes that everything be done with love. She is foremost a devoted mother to Miquel and Sev whom she and her partner, Paolo, consider the biggest inspiration of everthing they do.
She started her political career when she was elected and sworn as Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member for Ilocos Sur’s first district in 2016 and was re-elected in 2019 where she chaired the committees on Women & Family Affairs and Social Services were her heart has always been.
Relatively a neophyte in politics, she has now produced notable programs including the first province-wide Ilocos Sur Women’s Congress, formation of the Ilocos Sur Women’s Association and the Federated Student Councils of Ilocos Sur.
Currently, she is a member of the Executive Board and Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the Provincial Chairman of the National Movement of Young Legislators in Ilocos Sur and a proud fellow of Angat Bayi Women’s Political Empowerment Fellowship Program.
Her journey with YLGG is unparalleled. From all the mentorship and help she received in turning Pinay Power Caravan into reality. From the friendships that were built amongst the fellows and the exposure to vast networks allowed Mika to expand her wings to keep reaching greater heights.
