QUEZON CITY—Following up the success of the Young Leaders for Good Governance (YLGG) Batches 1 and 2, the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, in partnership with the International Republican Institute and the National Movement for Young Legislators culminated the YLGG Continuing Education Session last November 22-23, 2018. The said session, which was held in Microtel UP Ayala Technohub, Quezon City, focused on equipping our fellows with the necessary strategies on how they can raise funds for the upcoming midterm elections.
Similar to their previous sessions, the two-day event was filled with enriching talks and insightful workshops as the fellows learned more about the value of effective election strategies and fundraising techniques. Among the topics that Mr. Jess Yescalis of IRI, our guest speaker, has discussed are: 1) Broad and Value-Based Fundraising, 2) Identifying Prospective Donors, 3) Making a Compelling Pitch, and 4) An Actual Simulation of Sample Activities when Fund-raising. Altogether, the fellows were provided of alternative ways on how to raise funds and present themselves as they campaign and serve their constituents.
To further inspire our fellows to continue to serve, a leadership dialogue with Atty. Arnel Paciano Casanova followed Mr. Yescalis' session. His story of success has been a remarkable example of what you can achieve with perseverance and motivation. As a key takeaway to the fellows, he reminded them of the need for endurance as he emphasized the fact that quitters never reach their goals in the end.
