JMRF launches seventh run of Young Leaders for Good Governance

Empowering the next generation of servant-leaders!

On July 23–24, 2026, the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation (JMRF), through the Young Leaders for Good Governance (YLGG) Fellowship Program, in partnership with the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL), gathered the YLGG 7 fellows for Module 1: Foundation of Participatory Governance.

Throughout the two-day module, the fellows engaged in a series of reflective discussions, interactive plenaries, and hands-on workshops centered on the Tsinelas Leadership legacy of Sec. Jesse M. Robredo. Grounding their leadership journey in values of transparency, integrity, and grassroots participation, the young leaders explored the complex governance realities faced during their first year in office. Through sessions on participatory governance, citizen engagement, and shared accountability, the fellows gained critical insights into how open governance systems and grassroots mechanisms can drive meaningful change at the local level.

Working alongside mentors, alumni, and guest speakers from civil society and local legislation, the fellows analyzed pressing local challenges in education and health. They applied participatory analysis tools to design actionable legislative proposals and project blueprints tailored to their communities’ needs, setting the trajectory for their upcoming project implementation phase.

We express our deepest gratitude to all resource speakers, facilitators, and partners who generously shared their expertise and experiences. Their guidance enriched the fellows’ perspectives and challenged them to lead with integrity, strategy, and heart. We also commend the YLGG 7 fellows for their active engagement, thoughtful contributions, and genuine commitment to servant-leadership.

We look forward to the next module and to the lasting impact this fellowship will inspire in the communities they serve.
